We lost my mom, Flowers Vallet, September 24, 2025. She lived a life deeply rooted in love and community and had a sincere and gentle curiosity that allowed for easy connection with others.

Some of her fiercest and most constant commitment was focused on advocating for vulnerable communities, most especially LBGTQ+ youth. The constant attacks on the trans community, especially targeting access to gender-affirming care, angered and worried her beyond measure.

In one of the last conversations I had with her, my mom said she’d like to live forever.
